my quest for a bike pump
Hi I’m Jeff and I have no pump. Talk about usless. I have a headlight, blinking taillight, spare tube, tire tools, all in one bike swiss army knife lookin tool thing and a CO2 emergency 1 time pump. BUT I have no everyday pump. You ask “Jeff couldnt you just go to WalMart and by a bicycle pump?” and it would be a valid question, unless you knew me. Oh no, I have a genetic problem in my jeans called a wallet! On some things yes I can go just get any old thing, but on others..things that are important and log serving..I subscribe to the thought of ‘Get it good the first time’ (which is also why I have floaties on and swim in debt). So with that said, no I cant just go to WalMart and by a pump. I wish I could, but I just cant. I have to research and ask questions and pester the bike store people and ask more questions and pester some more people. All this coming from a guy who just recently (friday infact) learned that you have to unscrew the little valve thing on top of the valve stem. I know, I know….what an idiot. BUT the important thing here boys and girls is that I learned from my mistake and have grown as a person because of it. Now I too can properly inflate a tire to the recommended PSI. So I went to the LBS (Local Bike Shop) and after much debate I have settled on a Specialized pump because they (the pump gurus that I have consulted) have assured me that it is infact better quality….that I am a product whore….and possibly a marketing whore. So now I wait still pumpless for it to arrive. I have a pump in theory, and technically, but just not literally.
